Jayalalitha Vs Vijayakanth Heated Debate in Assembly Feb 1-2-2012 (Blasting)

Tamil Nadu Assembly saw heated debate between Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and Opposition Leader Vijayakant. All the DMDK members were sent out of Sattaperavai by Marshals.

What Happened - In Detail

- DMDK raised price rise issue. Questioned why ADMK Govt didn't raise price before Panchayat Election.
- Jaya replied that Sankarankoil by election will be held soon and AIADMK will emerge with grand victory

- Vijayakanth retorted by saying everyone knows how the ruling party wins by-election

- Jayalalitha - DMDK has accepted defeat even before election. Whether DMDK has 'thrani' to stand alone in by-election

- Vijayakanth -Even ADMK lost deposit at Pennagram by-election in the previous rule. ADMK is going to repeat the tactics of DMK

- O Paneerselvam - In previous DMK rule, High Court had ordered re-election 99 out of 157 wards in Chennai Corporation. Now in Puratchithalaivi rule election were held honestly and ADMK had huge victory

- Vijayakant - In 2006, ADMK blamed Electronic Voting Machine for defeat. We know how ADMK has won the Panchayat election now (DMDK allegation on ADMK misuse of EVM is understood)


- At this point ADMK, DMDK Members stood on their feet and started exchanging fiery statements against each other. No one can hear what was transpiring.

- Vijayankanth allegedly made rude gesture. Then members were gesturing hands and shouting

- To bring the house under order Speaker ordered eviction of all DMDK members by Marshals


Jayalalitha Comments on Incident:

After eveiction Jayalalithaa reacted to the incident at Sattamandram

- Feel ashamed (vetkapadukiren) for tie up with DMDK

- If unfit people are elected to assembly incidents like today are prone to occur

- ADMK would have won Assembly Election even without allying with DMDK.

- DMDK got Leader of Opposition Post only because of alliance with AIADMK

- Only downward trend for DMDK henceforth.

Captain Vijayakant Reaction outside assembly:

- Will contest and win Sankarankoil if the election is held under Governor's Rule

- ADMK were questioning the EVM in last rule. Now they are silent

Speaker has referred the DMDK behaviour to the Privilege Committee (Urimai Meeral Kuzhu). Jaya said Speaker was lenient in referring to Privilege Committee. DMDK members must have been suspended. DMK MK Stalin were watching the incident silently in the assembly.
