Dabangg Salman Khan says SORRY for his 26/11 Statement

News Desk: Breaking News! Salman Khan hit a new controversy over his comments about 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Salman said the 26/11 attacks were overhyped, but later apologised for his statement, saying he was misquoted by the media.

While giving an interview to a Pakistani news channel, Salman said "Too much hype has been created around the 26/11 attacks because elite people were targeted. Attacks have happened in trains and small towns too, but no one talked about it so much. Everybody took this up because the Taj and the Oberoi hotels were involved.

"The attacks happened because our security failed. Everybody knows that the Pakistan government was not behind it and it was a terrorist attack", he further added.

Shiv Sena called Salman’s comment as "anti national" and demanded that Khan should apologies for the statement.

BJP’s spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said "26/11 attack was an attack on India. We cannot forget that Indian citizens were killed. This was not a small issue for Salman Khan to comment. This was an attack meticulously planned by Pakistan".

Special Prosecutor in 26/11 trial Ujwal Nikam said that the statement was "childish".

After the statements got controversial Salman tweeted on his page "Every human life has equal value and any act of terror, anywhere in the world is unpardonable. be it 9/11 or 26/11".

He also added "Next time mein apne sub interview sub khud bhi record karoonga, kya bolte ho? Takeh yeh sub controversies nahi ho”. Writer Shobha De reacted to Salman's statement, saying "Salman K's shocking statement abt 26\11 smacks of arrogance,ignorance nd plain stupidity.A lame apology won't do, Sallubhai.Boycott Dabangg!"

On Aaj Tak News channel, Salman Khan's father Salim Khan said Salman “should not” have made remarks on the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. He also said that his son is not "articulate and political" and it could have been a "wrong choice of words". "Whatever I've heard, he should not have said.

"He should come forward in front of the media and apologise and he will... He will definitely say sorry and this repeated telecast of his comments should be stopped immediately... I'd like to express that we should not spread the wrong word and add fuel to fire", he said.

On Salman Khan Foundation -Being Human page of Facebook, Salmans Khan's father Salim Khan wrote, "Media Should not Hype so much on any Issue. If People are hurt by Salman's Statement he will Apologize - Salim Khan"

Meanwhile, Salman Khan issued a video, saying he never intended to hurt anyone. He said SORRY to those, who were hurt by his statement. He also tried to put the blame on the media for the controversy.
